One key innovation of Liandri\u2019s mining operations was the development of the \u201ccorkscrew\u201d excavation technique. Spiraling passages made for highly efficient exploitation of even a small asteroid\u2019s resources, while also minimizing travel time for the mining crew. An unintended side effect of this architectural layout, however, meant that competing mining factions would be encamped that much closer together, increasing the likelihood of conflict. Such was the case on the tiny moon of HelikosOne, where open warfare between Guilds broke out almost as soon as operations began.<\/p>\n
